Crafting a New Digital Workflow for Artists

In an age defined by the accessibility of online resources, the landscape of learning new skillsets has been significantly reshaped. Social media platforms and video-sharing websites such as YouTube have become pivotal resources, particularly in fields like music production and songwriting. While these platforms offer a wealth of tutorials and insights, the sheer volume of content can often overwhelm learners, lacking a cohesive structure for skill development. However, amidst these challenges lies a unique opportunity: Integrating structured tutorial content with additional resources such as sample libraries and access to third-party plug-ins, we could create a holistic experience for artists of all kinds. This integration not only addresses the fragmentation of learning but also enhances the creative process for a wide variety of users by offering a comprehensive toolkit within a single platform. The solution? Create a responsive web platform that offers users access to hours of instruction, sample libraries and sounds, and easy access to the top VSTs and software - all to streamline their creative process.

Addressing these challenges head-on, Sampl sets out to redefine the digital workflow for artists. We envision a centralized platform that serves as a hub for tutorials, sample libraries, and access to third-party plug-ins, providing users with a streamlined and comprehensive learning experience. By consolidating these resources into a cohesive and user-friendly interface, we aim to empower creators to navigate their creative journey with ease and efficiency.

brand design

For Sampl, the design was driven by a desire for simplicity and impact. The color palette was curated with a vibrant orange statement color inspired by the glow of music gear in a studio environment, complemented by accents of off-white, charcoal, and light grey for versatility in text and background elements. I chose the font Futura for its modern, sans-serif style, echoing the aesthetic of popular music production software like Ableton. The logo design blended vintage analog gear fonts with contemporary elements, featuring a period to symbolize a drum pad trigger. In terms of UI layout, custom icons and consistent card designs were implemented to maintain a cohesive visual identity across sample packs, plug-ins, and tutorial videos.
